An Introduction to Regenerative Architecture

As the construction industry’s impact on the world’s climate and biodiversity is becoming increasingly understood, this research explores how regenerative design principles can be applied to architecture. Instead of focusing on building practices that are ‘less bad’, regenerative design shows how we can create buildings that bring a positive change to the environment, and to the ecosystems in which they exists.

This piece of research was commissioned by Havwoods, and developed as a one-hour CPD (continuing professional development) seminar, for Havwoods to present to architects and design professionals. The seminar explores current frameworks for measuring sustainability in the built environment, the concepts of regenerative design, cradle-to-cradle and biomimicry, and how these approaches can be applied to architecture.
