Jan Gehl: Measuring public life

As a pioneer of urban observation and analysis since the 1960’s, Jan Gehl drew on his extensive work with creating cities for people worldwide, exploring how observation and the collection of data plays an important role in recording public life, and how it can support a human-centred approach to urban planning.

This lecture was organised as part of the programme for the exhibition The Data and Life of Great Future Cities, which opened in conjunction with the London Design Festival in September 2018. Read more about the exhibition here.
